Established in 2013 and headquartered in Houston, TX, XRI is the leading full-cycle water management and produced water midstream company with advanced water treatment technologies and recycling frameworks. We provide environmentally responsible results and sustainable solutions.

We are an integrated infrastructure business that owns and operates more than a dozen geographically dispersed recycling facilities with approximately 415 miles of permanent, large-diameter pipelines augmented by technologically advanced water treatment and recycling assets. 

Bringing deep expertise and industry-leading, full-cycle water solutions, including large-scale water treatment, produced water reuse and recycling facilities, we regularly – effectively and safely – manage over 1.2 million barrels of water per day.

Matt Gabriel

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Gabriel is a successful entrepreneur who has founded and led several high-growth, innovative companies

He previously served as co-founder of Entia Ventures, as Vice President of Chicago-based BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners and as an Associate in the corporate and private equity group at Kirkland & Ellis

Prior to his industry experience, Mr. Gabriel received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and received his B.A. in Philosophy from Rollins College

Nick Hines

Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Hines previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Oilfield Water Logistics (OWL)

Prior to OWL, Mr. Hines served in a number of management positions at Pioneer Natural Resources Company including Construction and Produced Water Manager and Permian Operations Engineering Manager

Mr. Hines holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University

Alex McDonald, PhD

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. McDonald previously served as Director of Business Development, Heavy Industry at Evoqua Water Technologies

Prior to his industry experience, Mr. McDonald received a BS in Chemical Physics and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Guelph and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Electrochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin

Mike Patrick

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Patrick previously served as the Chief Financial Officer at Mission Creek Resources, and has served as CFO or CAO for multiple public and private companies across the energy sector, including E&P, midstream and energy trading companies.

He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Texas.

Mr. Patrick received his Masters of Professional Accountancy from Louisiana Tech University

Justin Pratt

Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Pratt previously served as Vice President of Business Development at Pilot Water Solutions, held leadership roles at Felix Water, and served as a Project Manager at Williams overseeing large-scale gas gathering projects.

Mr. Pratt holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University.

Kimberly Gee

General Counsel

Ms. Gee previously served as Senior Counsel at Phillips 66 and held senior legal leadership roles at Crestwood Midstream–overseeing major Permian and Delaware Basin assets, as well as positions with Hess Corporation and Targa Resources.

Ms. Gee holds a J.D. from Baylor University School of Law and dual undergraduate degrees in Social Work and History from The University of Texas at Austin.

Ben Harrison

EVP, Finance

Mr. Harrison previously served as Energy Private Equity Associate at Morgan Stanley and Energy Investment Banking Analyst at Jefferies

Prior to his industry experience, Mr. Harrison received his B.B.A. in Corporate Finance and a minor in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin
