Job Summary

The Project Cost Estimator will coordinate, review, design, model, estimate, and evaluate preliminary economics for prospective Company projects. This position will be responsible for collecting and analyzing relevant historical, trending and prospective data to predict the profitability, cost and capital associated with prospective projects for operational divisions of the Company.  The Project Cost Estimator also responsible for preparing, overseeing, and reviewing all facility, pipeline, and pump hydraulic models to help support current and future operations.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead developer for ongoing preliminary economics and project estimating for prospective Company projects.
  • Responsible for regularly updating modeling assumptions for data analysis and project estimating.
  • Works with other executives and managers within the Finance and Accounting team to refine and update current estimating models and enhance their communication and value to other divisions.
  • Works with leadership in operations to understand and continually perfect models for project estimating. 
  • Routinely works with Business Development team members to assess new project proposals and assists in predicting the time, cost, and resources necessary to complete the project using relevant and available data.
  • Works with Land, Legal, Operations, and Finance to ensure that all aspects of project estimating is leveraging the most current data available for resources availability and associated costs. 
  • Building facility level hydraulic models for all hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure projects meet financial targets and completion dates
  • Enforce and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand and walk on concrete and uneven surfaces
  • Able to sit while operating a computer for an extended period
  • Able to stand and walk on concrete and uneven surfaces
  • Able to push, pull, lift, carry maximum weight 50lbs, repetitive wrist and hand movements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field
  • 5+ years’ Experience Required.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydro CAD, and ArcGIS 
  • Cost & Project Estimation
  • Requirements & Cost Analysis 
  • Windows-based software and MS Office applications, advanced Excel a must
  • Must be a critical thinker, self-motivated and able to prioritize
  • Must have communication, organizational and time-management skills
