Job Summary

The IT Director is responsible for leading and managing all information technology operations for a growing small to midsized organization with approximately 150 – 200 users across three primary offices and multiple satellite locations. This role requires a hands-on approach to IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity oversight, and 24/7 technical support coordination.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain hybrid IT infrastructure combining on-premises and cloud solutions
  • Manage Microsoft Windows server environment including Active Directory domain controllers, print servers, application servers, and backup systems
  • Oversee Hyper-V virtualization environment with Veeam backup solutions
  • Maintain and support Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA systems
  • Manage all network infrastructure including routers, switches, and access points across multiple locations

Cloud Services & Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Manage Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Oversee user provisioning, licensing, and access management for 150 – 200 users
  • Implement and maintain security policies within Microsoft 365 Security platforms
  • Coordinate SharePoint document library management and OneDrive backup strategies

Network & Connectivity Management

  • Manage Starlink satellite internet connections at field locations
  • Oversee Verizon private IP cloud connectivity via IPSec tunnels
  • Manage large fleet of cellular routers at numerous field locations
  • Coordinate with ISPs and manage network performance across all locations

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Conduct monthly security awareness training programs
  • Coordinate weekly external vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Manage Bitdefender GravityZone XDR deployment across all endpoints
  • Oversee Arista NG firewall appliances and security monitoring
  • Maintain SSL certificates and DNS management 

Mobile Device & Communications Management

  • Administer IBM MaaS360 MDM platform for approximately 200 company devices
  • Manage Verizon wireless account with phone lines
  • Coordinate mobile device procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management

Surveillance & Physical Security Systems

  • Manage numerous security cameras across multiple locations
  • Maintain NVR server installations at each location
  • Responsible for camera installation and cable management

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Negotiate and manage IT service contracts and vendor relationships
  • Oversee copier/printer service agreements
  • Manage Samsara fleet management service 
  • Coordinate software licensing and compliance across all platforms

Operations & Support

  • Provide 24/7 technical support including after-hours and weekend coverage
  • Lead office relocations and technology infrastructure setup
  • Manage IT equipment procurement and asset lifecycle
  • Coordinate backup and disaster recovery operations using Veritas Backup Exec and cloud solutions
  • Maintain Synology NAS systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in IT management and infrastructure
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration and security platforms
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, and firewall management
  • Familiarity with backup solutions (Veeam, Veritas Backup Exec)
  • Experience with MDM platforms and mobile device management
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
  • Understanding of SCADA systems (Ignition experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage IT operations independently
  • Ability to develop and implement IT policies and procedures
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills for user support and stakeholder interaction
  • Ability to provide technical training and documentation
  • Flexibility to provide after-hours and weekend support as needed
