Job Summary
The Contracts Specialist plays a vital role in managing and overseeing contracts. The contracts specialist is responsible for drafting, reviewing and finalizing contracts to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies. They act as a liaison between stakeholders, contractors, customers and vendors, ensuring that all parties understand the terms and conditions of agreements. Once executed, the contracts specialist manages contract milestones and other time-sensitive obligations, as well as review contract breaches and determine response plans.This position is located in Houston, Texas and is based on an in-office work schedule.
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Draft and review contracts, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
- Reviews customer contracts of all types to identify risks and to ensure conformity to Company policy.
- Reviews contract terms to identify any potential risk, compliance issues.
- Examines supporting materials and agreement documents related to bids or contracts and provides guidance.
- Acts as liaison between the organization and relevant external parties to implement the contracts.
- Maintains contract records used to ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Proposes alternative text/clauses for client contracts, as appropriate for the Company business.
- Ensures that the contract is thoroughly reviewed for legal, risk management, tax, and accounting issues prior to submitting to management for approval.
- Participates as a member of the negotiating team, consisting of business development and project management personnel, for establishing business terms and contract conditions.
- Monitors and administers the business provisions of contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Advises Legal regarding scope, financial, and risk issues of contracts.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all proposals, contract documents (i.e., Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Orders, etc.), and contracts, including key dates, milestones, and obligations.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

- Frequent exposure to inclement weather, bright lights, loud noises, dust, gas, and/or fumes

Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics or pre-law
- 5+ years of contract administration (or similar) experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond and resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Organizational and time-management skills
